Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Tea Party and Game of Chromes $11.99

Hello hello! It’s about time again for me to blog about beauty. Yes, it’s the winter season and outside looks blah.  But that doesn’t mean that your nails have to look blah too.

My winter nail polish picks of the moment look fabulous with whatever winter outfit you are wearing. You can’t go wrong this season, whether you are going with Tea Party, icey blue, or Crème de la Crème, wintery light pink.

The nail polish lines are a bit on the pricier side for nail polish, but worth every penny.  Sally Hansen has been around for years and produces quality nail polish. The Miracle Gel nail polish line is fantastic, as my nails do not chip easily. Every time I paint my nails with this particular nail polish line, my nail polish lasts for a good week and a half or longer.

So, what girl doesn’t love doing her nails? I love doing my nails because it’s something for me, during “me” time – usually that’s really late at night, and when my toddler has gone to bed and is fast asleep.

Lately, I’ve been doing my own nail polish art and coming up with my own creative designs. It’s been fun and easy to do, especially when you have the Sephora Nail Art Set that comes with a marbling and dotter tool and a thin paint brush. It’s worth buying it, especially if you’re an on-the-go girl like me, and don’t have time to book a manicure or pedicure appointment.

Go-to beauty picks

IMG_1870

(l-r): Benefit they’re real push-up liner $24, Stila colour balm lipstick in brigitte $22, Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation light $34, L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara $9, Urban Decay Naked2 Basics eye shadow palette $29, Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb Eu de Parfum Rollerball $30

Hello Tuesday!  Here are a few of my go-to beauty picks that I use.

Benefit they’re real push-up liner   This liner took me a bit of time to get use to putting on. But once I got the hang of it, it’s been full proof ever since.  It allows you to make thick or thin lines with ease and glides on smoothly. Plus, it’s sort of waterproof.  Once it’s on, it won’t smudge off easily. Depending on how thick I make the lines on my eyes, I sometimes have to take it off with a good makeup remover (I use Lancôme Bi-facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover $36).

Stila colour balm lipstick   If you want colour on your lips, but don’t want a colour as bold as red, then this is perfect for you. I love wearing this lipstick for a nice pop of colour on my face during the winter season.

Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation light   I’m a girl who doesn’t have a lot of time to put on makeup. So, I was looking for a no-fuss, no-muss foundation that provided the coverage I needed. This was it! Depending on where I need to go and how much coverage I need, I can easily use more or less of it without having more than one type of foundation. It’s simple to use and quick to put on with my kabuki brush, for a smooth and flawless look.

L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara   I have tried numerous mascaras, but this mascara is my favourite by far. It delivers what it says it intends to do and applies the mascara exactly where you need it to go. The revolutionary butterfly brush spreads, extends and lifts the outer corner of your lashes for a perfect winged-out look. The bonus is it’s not going to break the bank.

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics eye shadow palette   Looking for neutral eye shadow shades?  Look no further.  This has all the neutral colours I need for that natural or smokey-eye look.

Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb Eu de Parfum Rollerball   I am not one for a strong floral scent, so I wasn’t sure about trying this.  However, to my surprise, this has become a favourite of mine. The floral notes are subtle, but are enough to awaken my senses in a positive light. A girl on the go, who loves to explore far away places like me, needs this. The rollerball makes it quick and easy to put on and is the perfect size for travel.

Until next time Lovelies!
